BENGHAZI, BENGHAZI, BENGHAZI

When are we going to do something about Congress holding our tax money hostage? This mockery of an investigation on Benghazi has become a political circus aimed at destroying former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The GOP will spare no expense in an effort to damage Secretary Clinton's name especially now that she is running for President of the United States. I recently finished reading 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi by Mitchell Zuckoff with the Annex Security Team. The book is politically neutral (the upcoming movie based on the book is not however) and does point out that they did need added security but, it also points out the "stand down" order came from the director of the CIA Annex. The CIA told the contract employees of the Annex to "Stand down" as they were trying to coordinate the local militia "February 17" to respond and provide protection/security to the compound. The writer points out the reason for the "stand down" order may have been because the CIA did not want their cover blown, fearing an attack on the Annex. Whatever the reason, the order did not come from the State Department nor, anyone working at the State Department. In fact, Ambassador Stevens received a text message from Gregory Hicks, the Deputy Chief of Mission at the embassy in Tripoli, earlier that day regarding protestors storming the US Embassy in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. Ambassador Stevens quietly shared the news with his security team and "went on with his day." Ambassador Stevens did not sound any alarms (calling the State Department) he shrugged it off and assured his team he was not worried because he would be staying inside the compound the entire day. This does not sound like a man that was frantically worried about his security detail. Ambassador Stevens was also informed by the CIA and DS agents that local Libyans warned them about a "threat that was made to the local government buildings that day." The Ambassador was not concerned because apparently the threat was made by one group of Libyans to another group of Libyans. The Ambassador was notified two times that day and coupled with the fact that it was September 11, (anniversary of the attacks in the United States) this should have been enough information worry the Ambassador. However, the Ambassador was not worried and continued his regularly scheduled agenda inside the compound. I would suggest, to those that believe the current investigation into Benghazi is justified, getting a copy of this book and then deciding.

Some quick ACA facts

So this is the new year?

I resolve to get more sleep, read more, finish all projects in a timely manner, get out of the house more, and play with my dogs more. Nothing new really, just more of what I already do.

My wish list for media resolutions:
Stop the propaganda and lies about the ACA
Stop trying to convince the world the media is liberal
Extinguish the "myth" of liberal media
Focus on the positive aspects of the ACA
Stop being controlled by the Koch brothers, Fox News, Mr. Murdoch, and Bain Capital
Fact check more often
Quit stating the obvious
Report the things that really matter
Stop reporting the stupi statements made by members of Congress
Relax

USPS

On a totally different subject, the USPS here in Georgia are unreliable and down right liars. Several times a year my entire street and sometimes the entire neighborhood does not receive any mail at all. No, these are not listed holidays, these are everyday and average mail days. Seems our post man just gets tired, gives up, and goes home. I have complained to the Postal Service Regulatory Commission a number of times and even contacted our U.S. House of Representative Tom Price about this matter. The first response: "The postal employee handling our route was throwing our mail into a local business dumpster. He was fired and we were assigned a new employee." O.K, can we say, he should be in jail not just fired. Second response: "The new manager of the Doraville, Ga Post Office will be investigating these issues and will correct the problem." They even included her direct phone number so that we may complain directly to her. Oh but you guessed it, when we call the number, no answer or voicemail. So, we attempted to go into the Doraville, Ga Post Office to speak with her directly, and unavailable of course. Third Response: "We are working to fix the problem and are aware of your concerns." Hello, that is not a valid response. First Response from Tom Price: "We are currently investigating this matter and will keep you informed of the findings." Better but vague. Second Response from Tom Price: "A number of employees have been let go and Ms.Hicks assures my office the problem has been resolved." Sounds great but, shortly after this response, no mail again. So, I have complained to both offices again. At some point they will get tired of our rants and listen.

The latest stats on ACA enrollment

The latest stats on ACA enrollment. Seems not even the GOP's distraction efforts and lies can deter those 364,682 from abiding by the law and enrolling.

Fake Websites Courtesy of The GOP

The GOP has a new ACA scam to confuse individuals looking to sign up for health insurance coverage in their respective states. The GOP has set up these fake website that look like health insurance portals in certain states and is using this to undermine the ACA and Obama. MSNBC reported on this scam by posting an article showing the fake web addresses vs. the real health insurance web addresses. Attorney General Kamala Harris weeded out 10 phony versions of Covered California and said, "These websites fraudulently imitated Covered California in order to lure consumers away from plans that provide the benefits of the Affordable Care Act" and "my office will continue to investigate and shut down these kinds of sites." MSNBC also showed that one website in particular coveringhealthcareca.com is a decoy version of Covered California covered.com and it was created by the state's own Republican legislators to undermine Obamacare. The GOP assembly members launched the site in late August with a press release claiming it would help inform state residents about the Affordable Care Act.
